Ephesians 1:19–23 — The same power that raised Jesus is at work in you — and He reigns with all things under His feet. Lead Pastor Matt Beasley continues A Study Through Ephesians at Severns Valley.
Paul points to the immeasurable power God exerted in raising Christ and seating Him far above every rule and authority. However the age feels — politically, personally — God isn't wringing His hands in heaven. All things are under Christ's feet, and He is head over all things for the church.
A few things to carry into your week:- The power now at work in believers is resurrection power — the same that raised Christ.- "All things under His feet" includes whatever feels out of control in your life.- We don't have to manufacture control we don't have; we rest under the One who already reigns.- The Spirit's seal declares you His and held safe forever — not yet sinless, so keep bringing the rest to Him.
"What are you straining to control that's already under the feet of the reigning Christ?"

Ephesians 1:15–19 — Paul prays that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened to know the hope you've been called to. Lead Pastor Matt Beasley continues A Study Through Ephesians at Severns Valley.
Having the eyes of your heart enlightened isn't closing a knowledge gap you eventually graduate from — it's a cosmic shift from darkness to light, worked by God's power. And the first thing that opened sight reveals is hope — a hope that, unlike every other, does not disappoint.
A few things to carry into your week:- Enlightened "eyes of the heart" is heart-sight, not head-knowledge you finally master.- We've been trained by experience that all hope disappoints — chasing one fix to the next.- This hope is held fast by the Creator; it reaches into the gutter and pulls you forward.- The Spirit is given to guide you in wisdom and to awaken your heart to know and follow Him.

Ephesians 1:7–14 — "In Him we have redemption through His blood" — grace not measured out, but lavished. Lead Pastor Matt Beasley continues A Study Through Ephesians at Severns Valley.
Paul moves from what God purposed before time into your present, lived experience: in Christ you have redemption — present tense, already true. And the sin it covers isn't abstract; it's the specific, curated "buffet" each of us steps up to. Onto that, God lavishes the riches of His grace.
A few things to carry into your week:- Redemption is present tense — not "will have" or "should have," but "we have," right now.- Sin isn't general; it's the particular, personal things from this very week.- Grace isn't rationed — it's lavished, the riches of His grace poured out.- Though your sins be scarlet, the blood makes them white; the distance you feel is felt in you alone — His blood brings you all the way to the throne.

Ephesians 1:3–6 — Chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world — not for anything He foresaw in you. Lead Pastor Matt Beasley opens A Study Through Ephesians at Severns Valley.
As the study begins, Paul lifts our eyes to before time itself: God chose us in Christ to be holy and blameless. He didn't peer down the corridor of history and pick the impressive ones — before you were ever good or bad, you were found in Jesus, the only righteous One, and God's favor was lavished on you on the basis of His record, not yours.
A few things to carry into your week:- You were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world — before you'd done anything right or wrong.- God didn't choose the put-together over the spaghetti-stained; the choice rests on Christ, not on us.- That truth produces deep humility — there's nothing to boast in but Him.- It also produces praise: we were chosen "to the praise of His glory," presented holy and blameless in Him.
